Headline: Club Marine Northbank Family Fishing Competition a Resounding Success!

The picturesque Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula witnessed an outstanding weekend of family fun on October 13-14, 2023, as the Club Marine Northbank Family Fishing Competition set sail with great enthusiasm. The event boasted an impressive prize pool of over $20,000, bringing together dedicated anglers, families, and sponsors for a memorable weekend of family, fun fishing action.

A total of 25 Northbank boats participated in the event, showcasing the popularity and prowess of this iconic Australian fishing boat brand.

Comment from Northbank Owner, Andrew Harris:

Even though the weather didn’t quite turn it on with a 15 knot SW blowing for most of the day, the Northbank family of customers absolutely did! It was extremely pleasing to see so many Northbank owners at this year’s event and was great to be able to meet so many of them enjoying what we all love most, our boats, fishing and friends. This is the 13^th year of the event in Wallaroo, and we look forward to having more Northbank owners join in on the weekend’s activities in 2024. Events like this are so important to reginal towns like Wallaroo with an estimated $50,000 injected into the local economy over the 3 days. The support from the local community and from the volunteers during the weekend was much appreciated by all, I look forward to 2024’s event and meeting more Northbank owners along the way.

This year’s top honors went to the talented Team Borlace, who emerged as the Overall Champion team. Their incredible skill and determination and maybe a little luck earned them a well-deserved victory. The Grand Prize was an inflatable boat and 5hp outboard supplied by Mercury Marine – congratulations to Team Borlace.

In the Biggest Bag category, Team Talbot took home the prize, reeling in an impressive haul that left the competition in awe. Their triumph in this category added an extra layer of excitement to the event. Team Talbot took home a $2,000 Garmin Voucher – gotta’ be happy with that!

Looking ahead to the future, we are thrilled to announce that the Club Marine Northbank Family Fishing Competition will return in 2024, promising another year of angling excitement. Building on the resounding success of this year’s event, we are committed to upholding our tradition of bringing families, friends, and fishing enthusiasts back to the scenic waters of Wallaroo for more memorable weekends.

In 2024, we are excited to introduce a Victorian Competition for the very first time. The Victorian Event will be separate from the Wallaroo event, offering unique opportunities for anglers to participate, connect, and showcase their skills in two distinct locations. By holding an event in Victoria we hope to be able to bring the Club Marine Northbank Family Fishing Competition to owners from SA, VIC & even NSW with those willing to travel.
